Guest Post: The new Google Nexus 4 Vs. Galaxy S3

This guest post is by Boris Perepelitsky. Boris is a R.F Engineer and a part time tech blogger.

As we all remember about a year ago Google released their previous model, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and although I think that it was a great smartphone for its price (only $350 for 16GB), somewhat it was not such a great success.

Couple of weeks ago Google together with LG released their new smartphone, the LG Nexus 4. Not even a week passed and there are no phones left, so let’s find out what is it about the new gadget that attracts so many people.

This time, half a year after Samsung released the Galaxy S3, Google decides to release their new Nexus 4, and we can see that it is another thing all together. It is simply the best Android Smartphone ever, but don’t take my words for it, let’s check it out (according to the website -GSMAreana):

O.K, now let see what we got:

We can clearly see that Google 4 win almost in all categories. It has the stronger CPU and it works with the newest Android system (Jelly Bean) which makes it the fastest android device today.

The new Google 4 has slightly smaller screen than the Galaxy S3 but I think that it is an advantage since Galaxy S3 is a bit too big to be used one handedly, where as the Google 4 is just right.

There is one main disadvantage in the new Google 4 (as in all Google phones before him), it comes with only 8/16 GB internal memory with no place for expansion card (micro SD), now days it’s simply not enough .

We can see that Galaxy S3 has the better front camera (1.9 MP), but they both have a very good back cameras with the ability to record 1080p HD videos, smile detection and more great features.

Another Great thing about the new Nexus 4 is its price, only $300 for 8GB and $350 for the 16 GB whereas the Galaxy’s price is still around the $500. You can clearly see that although Galaxy S3 is made for humans (with money), Nexus 4 is made for every men pocket.

Thank you for reading my post.

Guest Post: Galaxy S3 Vs. Galaxy Nexus

The Samsung Galaxy S3  (I9300) is a great smartphone but is it the right one for you?. Is it really so good, or maybe it is a bit overrated. I’ve decided to compare it to Google’s Galaxy Nexus (I9250) which was released 7 month earlier and is one of the more popular Android handsets. According to the website – http://www.gsmarena.com, both phones are made by Samsung and work with the Android operating system.

O.K, now let see what we got. First, lets take a look at Google’s Galaxy Nexus. Although Google Nexus was released 7 month earlier it runs with Android Jelly bean (4.1.2) whereas Galaxy S3 runs with the Ice Cream version (4.0.4  upgradable to 4.1).

Both devices are manufactured by Samsung

Both devices are manufactured by Samsung

There is no doubt that by the hard numbers, the Galaxy S3 is the stronger phone but is it really worth the extra money?. It has the better camera but they both can record at 1080p (Full HD). Also on the Galaxy S3 you can store more data but do you really need it?.

Google Nexus is smaller by 0.15 inch than the Galaxy, but it makes it much more comfortable to be used one handed, the 0.08 inch in the width makes all the difference. You can use all the surface of the phone one handedly where as the Galaxy S3 is simply a bit too wide for the average hand.

And if we mentioned the size, one of the best things about the Galaxy Nexus – the screen, it has a bit smaller screen but the same resolution as the Galaxy S3, which makes it simply better (316ppi Vs. only 306ppi on the Galaxy S3).
